HiSMS is a full-featured SMS app that keeps spam, illegal betting and casino ads, fake bank and parcel scams and unwanted marketing messages out of your inbox.
Messages caught as spam make no notification; they wait in the Spam tab for 24 hours and are then permanently deleted from your phone. If something is blocked by mistake, one tap on “Not spam” brings it back.
The app is battery-friendly: it doesn’t run constantly in the background and uses the network only when needed. Your messages are processed only on your device by default.

Is HiSMS free?
Yes, core spam protection is free. Rule packs updated from the server, AI analysis and unlimited rules are part of Pro.
Does it have to be my default SMS app to block spam?
Yes. Android only lets the default SMS app block and delete messages. You can switch back to your old app at any time.
Are my messages sent to a server?
Not by default; all filtering runs on your device. If you turn on “Server analysis”, messages that don’t match any rule are sent over an encrypted connection for analysis and are not stored.
Can I undo a wrongly blocked message?
Yes. It waits in the Spam tab for 24 hours; tap “Not spam” to move it back and add the sender to your allow list.
Does the app use a lot of battery?
No. It doesn’t run continuously in the background; sync and cleanup run a few times a day when the system finds it convenient. Server analysis is postponed on low battery.
Why do I see a warning when installing outside Google Play?
Android 13 and up restricts SMS access for apps installed outside the store the first time. Two steps in the install guide allow it once.
